In the first 4 months of 2018, the total of newly registered capital, increased capital and capital contibution of foreigners valued USD 8.06 billion, equivalent to 76.1% over the same period of 2017.
As of April 20, 2018, the country has 883 projects granted the investment license with the total capital of USD 3.55 billion, equivalent to 76.1% as compared to the same period of 2017. 303 turns of projects registered investment capital adjustment with an aggregate of USD 2.24 billion, equivalent 51.1% over the same period of 2017. Also within the first 4 months of this year, the country has 1,863 turns of capital contribution, stock buying of foreign investors with the total value of USD 2.26 billion, up 67% over the same periof of 2017.
At present, 82 countries and territories have investment projects into 17 sectors in Vietnam, in which the processing and manufacturing industries lure the most interest of foreigners with the total investment capital of USD 4.52 billion, amounting 56.1% of the aggregate registered capital. South Korea ranks the first among investors in Vietnam with USD 2.32 billion, followed by Japan, USD 1.29 billion and Singapore, USD 808 million.
