In 2017, Vietnam Airlines and the Department of Foreign Affairs had closely coordinated and implemented the cultural diplomacy plan in integration with tourism promotion to create attractive background for business partners to take part in to enhance the city’s resources in economic and tourism development.
Vietnam Airlines has taken initiatives to carry out many of its commitments, especially advertising the image of the land and people of Hai Phong in Heritage magazine, presenting on whole flights and at terminals of 21 domestic and 28 international routes, 50 offices, over 1,000 travel agents, 300 domestic tourism companies, 200 agents and big tourism companies abroad ... Through the system, the image of Haiphong has been known by millions of tourists worldwide, adding up to attraction of the city towards international tourists.
Further, the Department of Foreign Affairs also took initiatives in organizing events as planned, urging organizations execute corresponding activities.
According to the cooperation plan of 2018, the municipal People’s Committee of Hai Phong and Vietnam Airlines are going to sign an agreement on 2018-2021 strategic cooperation; to study on setting up Hai Phong (Vietnam) - Kunming (China) airways; to continue the sponsorship for 2018 Red Flamboyant Festival entitled as “the transport sponsor".
