On Jul 10th, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, chairman of the municipal People's Committee met and worked with the delegation of Yokkaichi city (Japan) led by Mr. Tomohiro Mori, the mayor of the city as the head of the delegation. The chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung sincerely thanked the mayor and the delegation for a visit and works in the city, as well as to review some items in the MOU signed between the two cities in August of 2016. The chairman of the municipal People's Committee was pleased to inform the delegation results of socio-economic development of the city achieved in the first 6 months of this year, Hai Phong has been regarded as the national highlighting sample in socio-economic development. Currently, Hai Phong has more than 130 investment projects from Japan, portioning for more than 30% of the total investment of foreign enterprises in the city. In addition, there are two projects are going to invest in retailing and golfing. The mayor of Yokkaichi city Mr. Tomohiro Mori expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of Hai Phong and said that the delegation consisting 17 enterprises from Yokkaichi city to Hai Phong to look for investment opportunities. In coming September, Yokkaichi city will host the Vietnam Fair, an exhibition promoting the beauty of culture, people and country of Vietnam, including Hai Phong, to contribute further fruitful relationship and promote cooperation of the two cities. Enterprises in the delegation are particularly interested in the situation of power supply; transport infrastructure from the districts to ports; prospects and potential of shipbuilding industry of the city; preferential policies for small and medium enterprises from Japan. |
