Mr. Iwamura Yasutsugu, the general director of Aeon Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd said, the corp invested successfully the Aeon shopping mall at Long Bien (Ha Noi) and has been carrying out one in Ha Dong. Following up, within the developing and expanding strategy, Aeon selected Hai Phong because it is the most dynamically developing city in the region with opening potentials. However, to construct a significant shopping mall in the region, Aeon needs an area of around 9.5 ha and request high connection of transport. Thus Aeon expects Hai Phong to facilitate to recommend relevant site and provide close cooperation for the project to be executed soon. 

Mr. Le Van Thanh, chairman of the municipal People’s council welcomed leaders of Aeon Mall Vietnam to Hai Phong, praised the idea of the shopping mall in the city. The secretary of the municipal Party Committee emphasized, this is also expectation of the city and committed to facilitate the most suitable location and related procedures for the project. Thanh requested Aeon to proceed rapidly necessary preparation to start the project and finish it in the shortest time. The secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Thanh confirmed, Hai Phong has been investing and constructing the modern system of infrastructure with high connection of transport modes; currently, many giant economic corporations have been to Hai Phong to invest to modern apartments, resorts, high class entertainment sites, five starred hotels … However, the secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Thanh also noted that Aeon should be aware of future development of Hai Phong to ensure a great scale to be deserved a shopping center in the region. The secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Thanh requested authorities, industries, localities of Hai Phong to cooperate closely with Aeon for the project to be started promptly.
