Officially joined the sea-crossing Tan Vu – Lach Huyen bridge

On Jan 6th, 2016, Hai Phong municipal People’s Committee has coordinated with the Ministry of Transport and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to hold the ceremony of segment closure on the main span of Tan Vu – Lach Huyen road construction project. This is the longest sea-crossing bridge in SEA so far.
Tan Vu – Lach Huyen road construction project is the most important package of the infrastructure construction project of Lach Huyen port with total capital of 11,849 billion Vietnam Dong from ODA loan of Japanese Govt. and reciprocal capital of Vietnamese Govt.
The project has been newly constructed with the total length of 15.6km consisting 5.4km of sea-crossing bridge and 10.2km onshore road; divided into two phases of which the first one has been being carried out with width of the road of 29.5m, width of the bridge of 16m, having 04 lanes for vehicles for phase 1 and 06 lanes to be constructed completely for phase 2.
The project will connect developing zones on the East of Hai Phong with Lach Huyen port, Dinh Vu IZ as well as the Hai Phong – Ha Noi express way to respond to the regional development and the progress of Lach Huyen international gateway.
At the ceremony of segment closure of Tan Vu – Lach Huyen bridge, the deputy minister of MOT Nguyen Van Cong noted and highly appreciated qualification, efforts and determination of the employer, the consultant and supervision agencies, constructors, sub-constructors during implementation of the project. It’s special that most advanced and modern sciences have been transferred and applied so that the Vietnamese man force can gradually master. The deputy minister of MOT requested constructors to continue construction as scheduled, ensuring quality and striving to complete construction for the traffic opening by the time of the visit of the Japanese King and Queen expected in May 2017.
