On Dec 12th, at Cat Bi international airport (Hai Phong), Vietjet Air (VJA) has officially started a new international route Hai Phong – Seoul (R.O.K) opening an entrance connecting Hai Phong with the North-East-Asia region. On behalf of the municipal leaders, Mr. Le Van Thanh, secretary of the municipal Party Committee, chairman of the municipal People Council, Mr, Nguyen Van Tung, the chairman of the municipal People Committee and senior leaders has attended the inauguration and welcomed the first passengers arrived from Seoul.
In the beginning stage, from Jan 19th, 2017 to Feb 13, 2017, VJA will operate flights on every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday for Hai Phong – Seoul routes and would add up operation as per practical demand. Flight time on the route is almost 5 hours, flights from Hai Phong start at 23:45, estimated to arrive in Seoul at 06:00 (LT) and flights from Seoul start at 07:15 (LT), reaching Hai Phong at 10:40.
To be an official member of International Air Transport Association (IATA), ranged in Asia brand top 500 2016, Possessing and operating over 40 A320 & A321 aircrafts, operating 350 flights approx. a day and has had a passenger transport of almost 35 million with 53 routes covering local destinations and international routes Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Thai Lan, Malaysia, Myanmar, China … Opening the new route of VJA is a great contribution to changing the outlook of the city. Spoke at the inauguration, the CEO of VJA, Madam Nguyen Than Ha announced, from the beginning of operation, VJA considered Hai Phong with ideally geographic location, an essentially commercial exchanging joint in the North, would be a vital locality for its operation. Summed up till the end of Aug 2016, VJA had carried out over 10.000 flights, performed a passenger transport of 2 million approx. on 9 flight routs to and from Cat Bi international airport. Apart from Hai Phong – Seoul and Hai Phong - Bangkok routes which is operated round trips on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday weekly for Nov 9th, 2016, VJA has been preparing to bring some international routes connecting Cat Bi international airport with Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China in operation in the coming time. With such a connection, the investment environment, business promotion, economic development, tourism of Hai Phong … would be a great breakthrough to share strengthening attraction of investment from all resources for the city.
